Here’s some random ramblings to start off the evening ww

So in BotW it seems like the elements are separated into Fire, Ice, and Lightning, yeah? They’re the types of dragon/spirits, wizzrobes, rods, elemental weapons, and arrow types (besides bomb and ancient of course). They also fit nicely and traditionally with the triforce and the associated Golden Goddesses-- Din and fire, Nayru and water, Farore and lightning (though she’s usually wind... perhaps wind and lightning are closely related). I can imagine the magical theory of BotW therefore revolving around a trinity of elements as well.

However, what about Minish Cap? There are four (classical) elements in MC: fire, water, earth, and wind. Hence the Four Sword. This would conflict rather badly with the tri elements, except... I can’t remember the elements directly being associated with magic? It was more of a “energy of the land condensed” sorta deal. Not to mention, magic in MC was kinda hand-wavey and there was lightning as well, so that wouldn’t fit with the four elements. In conclusion... it’s probably just a terminology thing?

I assume that outside of any of the elements mentioned, there is a separate light/dark thing going on too-- it just kind of seems instinctually plausible considering the whole Hylia/Demise thing and the Light Force and Dark World and etc. Healing vs Destruction. Also, is there pure magic as well? Is the most basic form of magic simply called magic, or is there another base element? 

I haven’t played much of the other LoZ games so I’m not sure, but I vaguely recall there being around 6 elements in other games?? The conclusion is that no one actually has any idea or agreement on what the elements are I guess lmao OR they are generally separate systems associated with different things.... Or... perhaps I just have no idea since I don’t have Hyrule Historia, and my thoughts are just out of ignorance.... lmao.....
